The Dobla de Oro (Gold Doubloon) is a heritage route established and organised by the Alhambra and Generalife Trust. The route enables visitors to discover the monumental Alhambra and Generalife sites, as well as four historic buildings in the Albaicín, a neighbourhood, that, like the Alhambra, is catalogued as world Heritage by uNESCO. The name of the route alludes to an old gold coin used in the Emirate of Granada as, like this coin, the route has two faces. In these case, the faces on the doubloon are formed by two hills, one palatial and courtly (the Alhambra hill), the other urban (that of the Albaicín).
